Senior Israeli military and intelligence sources said this week, that Israel’s strategic and military position in the Middle East is deteriorating. In other words, the strike Iran window is closing more rapidly than first thought.
Iran has transferred 20 percent uranium enrichment to Fordo. Israeli intelligence believes this is a move that will speed up the process of enriching uranium to weapon grade status. Also, UN inspectors were denied an interview with Mohsen Fakrrizadeh, the head of Iran’s military nuclear program. And a few days ago Iran’s Chief of Staff threatened that Iran will not wait for “its enemies” to strike first. Do not be surprised if Iran strikes Israel first through one of its proxies, such as Hamas in Israel or Hezbollah in Lebanon. It is difficult to tell what may ignite a fire between these two nations.
Iran not backing down…
Iran shows no signs of backing down, and believes that most of its nuclear facilities are not vulnerable to attack because the facilities are submerged well underground. Iran’s newly enforced oil export stoppage to Europe has caused the price of oil to rise on the world markets—Iran’s way of saying we can punish as well as you. Iran is also driving a wedge between Israel and the United States—sending signals to the US that it is willing to engage in back channel discussions—thus giving hope to America. The Iranian tactic is viewed with anger by Israel—Israel believe the US is being manipulated by a stall ruse.
At the time of the end another wave of great destruction will engulf the Middle East, only this time it will be far worse than anything ever seen before. Daniel 11 records a phenomenal prophecy.
Verse 40 describes how “the king of the South shall attack him [the king of the North]; and the king of the North shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, horsemen, and with many ships [all symbols of military vigor]; and he shall enter the countries, overwhelm them and pass through.” This is speaking of a European power that will take control of Israel. Iran may inflict damage in a war with Israel in the months ahead, but Iran will not be victorious. Soon—most likely in your lifetime—a European power will exercise hostility toward Israel. Until then the Middle East will be dominated by wars and rumors of war.
One of the most wonderful and awe-inspiring moments in life is when the chromosomes of a father join with the chromosomes of a mother to form a new individual. From this point forward, that 46 chromosome person will develop at an alarming rate into a beautiful baby boy or girl. This defining moment when sperm and ovum unite is clearly the point of conception. Any action or procedure either surgical or medicinal that interferes after this defining moment of fertilization is tampering with human life which God has created.
Unfortunately, Americans have been thumbing their noses at God’s gift of life by approving the use of “contraceptive” drugs such as “Plan B” and “the morning-after pill.” Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania is now conveniently selling Plan B via a vending machine for $25 each. Americans have become alarmingly casual with these controversial drugs which affect a mother’s womb.
A mother’s womb has become the most dangerous place for a child to be. In America, 55 million unborn children have died in what should have been the safest, most secure environment on Earth.
What is God’s view on this hot political topic of when life begins? Look at God’s comments concerning the prophet Jeremiah: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you.” Jeremiah 1:5. The Creator considered the life of Jeremiah before the point of conception. God sanctified Jeremiah while he was yet unborn and in his mother’s womb.
God makes it absolutely clear that He identifies the unborn Jeremiah not as a cluster of human cells but as a precious and beautiful human life.
The Greek economy is a disaster and Germany is insisting that Greece fall under the direct control of the European Union, as Greece has no self-discipline to control itself.
The Germans don’t trust the Greeks to keep any agreements, which is not unreasonable given that the Greeks haven’t followed through on previous promises. Germany attempted to set in motion a plan to suspend Greek sovereignty by transferring it to a European receiver who is not Greek.
The Germans believe that given the financial foolishness of the Greek government, and the Greek public, creditors have the responsibility, right and power to suspend the national sovereignty of Greece in the financial sphere. This is an enormous blow to Greek pride—igniting a firestorm of anti-German hatred across Greece. Images of Germany’s Angela Merkel in Nazi attire is seen on Greek T.V. , the internet and in newspapers.
Though the European Commission rejected Germany’s plan, the concept may be brought up again before European leaders. Greece resents Germany dictating terms but Greece is being forced to deal with the harsh reality that “The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is the slave of the lender”—Proverbs 22:7. Germany is the lender—Greece is in desperate need of borrowing more money.
Greek President Karolos Papoulias slammed Germany’s finance minister Wolfgang Schaeuble for insulting his nation. Greeks are angry because of German officials almost daily lectures on the appalling state of the Greek economy.
A livid President Papoulias singled out Schaeuble after he suggested Greece might go bankrupt. Wolfgang Schaeuble is warning “Greek promises aren’t enough for us anymore”, and he has likened Greece to a bottomless pit. Finnish and Dutch leaders have also strongly condemned Greece.
“I don’t accept insults to my country by Mr. Schaeuble”… Papoulias, an 82-year-old veteran of Greece’s resistance struggle against the Nazi occupation of World War Two lashed out–Who is Mr. Schaeuble to ridicule Greece? Who are the Dutch? Who are the Finns? We always had the pride to defend not just our own freedom, not just our own country, but the freedom of all of Europe”.
Angela Merkel’s Germany’s government remains committed to enabling another aid package for Greece and doing what it can to avoid the first sovereign default in the euro zone. German leaders and many Germans are angry that it is primarily Germany that is required to bail out the “lazy, overspending Greeks”. Greek debt is massive due to selfish overspending that has gone on for years.
Television clips of Greek anti-austerity protesters, and politicians blaming Chancellor Angela Merkel for their financial difficulties incited anger in the patriotic pages of Germany’s best-selling daily, Bild. The news daily writes that Greeks and other European recipients of aid to which Germany is the biggest single contributor… “should put flowers outside our embassies and send the chancellor thank-you notes.” In one recent opinion poll, two thirds of Germans surveyed said they doubted Greece’s determination to reign in their financial sloth.
Resentment of the tough German stand on Greece’s failure to meet targets set by the EU and IMF in return for financial aid has escalated in recent months. Computer images of Angela Merkel in a Nazi uniform are showing up more and more in Greece. Protesters burned a German flag a few days ago. Germans are fuming over Greece’s Nazi name-calling.
The frenzied effort to bail out Greece and save it from a devastating debt default continues. But Germany may finely say they have had enough, and allow Greece to default.
Prophecy reveals that that the global superpower to emerge at the time of the end will be centered in Europe. As related in Daniel 2, the Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar saw a great image of a human figure in a dream. The image has feet with 10 toes representing the grouping of 10 kings or leaders of nations who would form this final empire. The description given sounds hauntingly like some nations that comprise the European Union today. We believe Germany will lead this end-time Beast configuration.
The toes were composed “partly of potter’s clay and partly of iron,” which reveals that “the kingdom shall be divided” and “be partly strong and partly fragile” (verses 41-42). Also, “just as iron does not mix with clay,” the member nations of this kingdom will not coexist together for long (verse 43). These nations are described in a way that appears to indicate they preserve their individual cultures and political will. Some will be much more powerful than others. Just as Germany is much more powerful than Greece, each country is greatly different in persona—demonstrating a fragile friendship. Eventually, European leaders will give their power and authority to what the book of Revelation describes as an, animal-like leader—”the beast” who is cunning and brutal (Revelation 17:12-14); who also rules a system called the Beast. That leader has not risen to prominence yet. But that will happen soon—most likely in your lifetime.
Watch Europe… a major power shift is underway.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu directly blamed Iran for an attack on an Israeli diplomatic vehicle that was targeted in New Delhi. The blast injured four, including the wife of an Israeli defense representative working at the Embassy. Last month, Mostafa Ahmadi-Roshan—an Iranian scientist, was killed when motorcyclists placed a sticky bomb on his Peugeot car—It is believed Israel was behind the assassination. The Iranian sponsored assassin in India reportedly used the same method of attack in New Delhi.
The attempted killings followed a warning from Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, earlier this month that the Islamic Republic would retaliate against international sanctions and would back any nation or group that sought to “confront and fight” Israel.
Mr. Netanyahu told a meeting of his Likud party MPs that “Iran is behind these attacks and it is the largest terror exporter in the world”. He also blamed Iran for recent plots to attack Israeli targets in Thailand and Azerbaijan that were prevented. The Israeli leader believes that the militant Islamist Hezbollah movement was also involved.
Israel’s Foreign Ministry is confirming that it foiled a similar attack on an Israeli Embassy vehicle in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. The bomb was discovered before it went off.
The apostle Paul wrote, “But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come” (2 Timothy 3:1). We are entering those perilous days. The Middle East is churning with tension.
